BOARDING CARE
RCFE (Boarding Care)
Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE's) also known as "Board and Care" homes, are residential communities that provide 24-hour care and supervision to seniors who need assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) but do not require skilled nursing care.

This Homes can provide a safe and comfortable living environment for individuals with dementia or for those who cant physically care for themselves and are completely dependent on the assistance of caregivers.

RCFEs can vary in size, ranging from small homes with six residents to larger communities with 100 or more residents. However, the term "Board and Care" typically refers to the smaller, six resident communities that you mentioned.

In Boarding Cares, residents live in private or shared rooms and receive assistance with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and medication management. The care is provided by trained caregivers who are present 24 hours a day, normally with two caregivers during the day and a minimum of one during the night.
